Tough, lightweight and highly breathable, the Orion Jacket thrives while climbing, mountaineering and ski touring in the most difficult conditions. Closely related to our class-leading Tupilak Jacket, the Orion shares the same exceptionally protective design and the highest levels of construction.
The Orion uses a nanoporous membrane with 10 billion nanopores per square inch. This helps to give it excellent breathability whilst maintaining a hydrostatic head of over 20,000mm.
This is combined with an exceptionally abrasion-resistant 160 Denier face fabric through the highest wear areas of the jacket, and a 70 Denier fabric that gives slightly greater flexibility through the rest of the body.
This is the first time weāve used our highest standards of Storm construction outside of our GORE-TEX PRO range. We employ extensive laser cutting, bonding and optimised stitch counts to make these the best-designed and constructed shells in the world; they are simply built better than their competition.
One of the Orionās standout features is its Super Alpine Hood, a painstakingly developed refuge from the very worst mountain conditions and a hood you can actually climb hard in rather than just hide under. Designed to fit easily over a helmet, it provides protection from snow, rain and brutal wind.
